  2. Hi Grace

    Overall Score: 16/20

I can see you had a really solid idea to start with and it is evident that your idea has evolved and changed throughout the course of production, often based on practicality.
I enjoyed the contrast between the 'golden memories' of your star and her 'messed up/ darker' version of her adult self. That contrast was well communicated and there were some great shots. Particularly well done were the stage shots, the 2-shots on the stage and the back to back 2-shots on the road at night.
Your effects worked well to take your footage to the next level and your editing went through a refining process from your rough edit to produce a more sophisticated product, although there is still room for improvement, your progress from rough edit to final edit is evident.
Areas for improvement would be the shots that seem hastily added. The telephone shot could have been better thought out. It works as iconography / symbolism, but it seems clumsy inserted just o fit the lyrics but not really flowing with the surrounding footage, and not well transitioned (even a fade or superimposition would have worked well) Also if it is an example of iconography or symbolism, it really does need to be repeated throughout your music video so it isn't so random. Early shots of your star could have used bleed over sound to really tie it to the rest of the video.
The other comments I would make are that the theme of the song (the lyrics elude to) is LA City, having footage of your star in the country seems like it needs a city setting. Better planning from earlier on could have meant you got some good City shots (at night with city lights would have been very cool). Just thinking about setting really tying into the overall tone, look and feel, tying into the lyrics and really becoming a coherent narrative, is important. The ending shot also would have been better to have been the car driving off or the slow-mo of the actors ending the song, as a creative opinion.
