Week 12 - Looking back on Final Edit
•
My Final Edit is now submitted and I'm really happy with how it's turned out! I feel as though it's professional, creative and interesting, and I'm really glad that there aren't any 'cringe' or awkward moments within the video. That it's realistic and thought-provoking.
I'm really proud of how much I've grown and learnt in terms of editing and working with the Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After Effects software over the last two years of doing this subject. If we compare my Advanced Portfolio Final Edit to my very first preliminary task from AS, there are so many evident improvements!
Preliminary Task 1 from last year for comparison:
What I really love about my music video:
- The fonts I used for the opening credits and title.
- The glitch effect I used throughout -> it matches the video as a whole, and runs throughout the video in various shots to create a lovely flow.
- The generous use of close up and extreme close up shots to highlight the emotions of the talent.
- The shots of Phoebe Armitage's feet as she walks along the road -> especially love how at one point the lyrics match the visuals perfectly - the song talks about Lovato wishing to go back, and visually Phoebe Armitage is walking backwards.
- Love how I've cut between shots on the beat.
I realised during editing that there are actually so many great effects on Adobe Premier Pro that are simple and easy to use yet look great in the video! I used some of these effects in my video and feel that they really brought it to life.
I think that adding any more after effects than what I did would've been too much and so I'm really happy with and proud of my music video overall.
